OFSTED RATED OUTSTANDING!
Smash Life were delighted to be informed by our wonderful virtual school partners at Telford & Wrekin Council that the Children’s Services had been rated ‘Outstanding’ by a recent OFSTED inspection.
Why are we shouting about this?
Smash Life was given its first opportunity by this local authority when a lot of other doors closed and professional’s waved away the ‘Lived Experience’ approach. Through our award winning mentoring services delivered by our incredible team of mentors every week to young people in and out of the care system.
Not only do we offer mentoring but Woodland experiences, Smash Life Football & Music Experiences have all been put in place and will continue to be delivered for those young people – giving them the same enriching opportunities to reach their potential as everyone else.
We have also helped capture young people’s voices by being on the ground and advocated and amplified their feelings towards their education, foster placements and the things that matter to them – after all they are why we all exist as a service aren’t they?
Pictured below are Shirley Reynolds and Shaun Davies holding the sign together proudly – there are so many unsung heroes that go above and beyond in Telford everyday – too many to mention but thank you for being such a positive and brilliant example of what we can all achieve when we all align with the same vision. I have to give a special shout out to Telfords Virtual Head Michelle Salter who has believed in us from the start. Someone who goes above and beyond everyday (young people also tell us who goes above & beyond for them).
It’s been and continues to be a pleasure to have Telford as a partner and we are so proud that this is the SECOND outstanding rating they have received whilst we have been working alongside and supporting all the great work they do over the last few years.
So when people want to know our ‘impact’ or ‘what are the outcomes lads?’ you can’t get better than that OFSTED ‘outstanding’ news for the second time!
We will keep leading from the heart, knowing our collective whys, being creative and working in collaboration with some awesome individuals & agencies who all bring something unique to the table!
We can’t wait to work with more local authorities in the future to help them achieve ‘Outstanding’ and to know Children both in and out of care are loved and cared for and this is demonstrated by services going above and beyond EVERYDAY – like you would for your own children!
